Who's fighting whom? Gimme the rundown, this is too complicated for me.

Obama went to Dover AFB to salute the coffins of some mil guys that got killed in a helo crash in Afgh.

The sides in the fight seem to be about these:

1) Bush never went to salute coffins at Dover.

2) Bush went to hospitals instead--never taking the press pool with him.

3) Obama goes to Dover alright, after "dithering" and takes the press with him, who shoot a picture of him saluting a coffin.

4) Of the 17 coffins flying in, only one of the dead soldiers' families allowed their son's coffin to be photographed.

5) One thing I thought of, did it occur to anyone that saluting the corpse of a guy killed in an accident is different than saluting the coffin of a guy that got killed in action or heroically? Might that have been too gung-ho for Obama?

Qn: Is this a disgraceful use of the coffins as a prop or is it a valuable expression of presidential solidarity with military families?

Not a totally clear-cut question, but I'd go with W's subdued solution. Speak softly, and carry a big stick. Didn't someone say something like that at some point?
