Could be an act. Argue, bide for time, make it look like not being a rejectionist till election time. Get back in instead of an AA-Tecs hero like John Foxtrot Kerry and then shut the curtains quick and weather the shit for a couple years or 6...
Probably what I would do.
The Dems think they have a good talking point in the "Party of No" BS.
OK, look reasonable, like Stalin over there, but then,...nah...
Mr Rot, are you letting your inner Macchiavelli and/or Metternich show? Too deep for me. All I can tell is that Mac & Co are back to their old stupid games of playing footsie with the true-blue AmeriSoccers. For the mileage it ever got them, or ever will...
Let's see if they really pass something, Tecs. If Mac and the others succeed in slowing the Dems down long enough so that their "political capital" is about zero, then we win even with bad numbers in Congress.
I simply don't trust anything (well, almost anything) Mac says. He's way past his prime. The honorable thing to do after his crushing defeat last Fall would be to retire into the sunset, and let the Young Turks have their turn.
