I think there's a Romanian saying that fits this. It goes something like, "If you're so smart, why do you have a cellphone, haven't invented a jet-engine, and are so goddam stupid."

Am I right?

This is exactly right, Tecs. It's time that the markets be run according to scientific principle. Like climatology. Enough of this superstition and feel-goodism.

Mandelbrot is such a riot. C'mon, Mr Rot, this is fun. Wish we had more big shot mathematicians giving such hot-air interviews to Le Monde. You gotta admit it, this is a find. What wine are you sipping? You should save half a bottle for me.

I agree. Great fun. Nothing like a mathematician to get everything in the world wrong except for his math. Like Darius the Freat...
