Steyn having fun

Dunno who's right here. E Anglia said they're giving all their data out but these stories say they're lost. What's right?

Good question. I also asked myself that. The only logical explanation that I have (assuming both statements are correct), is that

(1) E. Anglia did throw to the garbage can all the old tapes and reams of paper containing the raw temperature data these guys were "processing".

(2) Now, after all the pressure to disclose their data has finally started to catch up with them, they are going to release (some? all?) of the [digitalized, and "adjusted"] data they have.

Proving the point. Only lesson drawn by the Lysenkoist establishment:

I really think people should be discreet … in this day and age anything you write, even privately, could become public and to put anything down in writing is, to say the least, indiscreet … It is another matter to talk about this to your friends on the telephone or person to person but to put it down in writing was indiscreet.
