Why? Wasn't there a poll recently saying that the tea partiers are more popular than either Dems or Reps? Of course, this may not be the case in Mass...
By the way, it's not just politics in all this---it's also the imponderables, like demeanor, etc. Counterpoint: here is a guy arguing that Brown is to the left of Scozzafava (!?) So maybe, but who cares?
Brown is probably about the same as Scozzafava in addition to being a fruity prettyboy.
Point is that in NY23, the Repubs could have got a real conservative in, say Hoffman, if they'd not backroomed a pinko fatass.
In Massachusetts, fruity prettyboys that like Romneycare better than Obamacare are the best you have any shot at actually electing. Even Barney's conflicted, thinking at least to get a glimpse of Brown's morenos in the men's room in the Capitol.
As to tea partiers in MA, I think they're about as popular as Palin.

Connecting Brown to the tea partiers is dangerous business.

Whats' morenos? No comprende.
You mean ‹‹No comprendo››. Morenos are dark-skinned ones. One refers to the genitalia in that manner when one wishes to be ironic.
The etymology is "moors".
Comprendo, comprende: Minsk, Pinsk.
Morenos: Aha, I get it now.
