Senior UN sources had said British and French warplanes could be in the air within hours to carry out initial air raids on Libyan positions, possibly with logistical support from Arab allies. Where is we?
REGURGE: The French beat us to the punch. Where is we? Here? Or here? How about saddling up at some point?

"Where is we?"
Good question. Is Obama going to do anything or just say yes to letting Cameron Diaz and Nicholas Sarkozy do everything?
Seems kinda the worst of both worlds. When the Arabs actually do make an unmistakable call for US help, they get a couple ragtag frogs and some sodomite brits coming along 3 weeks late.
The US is busy fucking itself up, guys. Sorry.
Rubio keeps getting better. He's cooking.
Yeah, though he doubted too much that Hillary would get the Chinese and Russians to abstain, the principle is the same.
Are we supposed to wait on them for everything we do?
Basic principle of Pepe thought.
Good point. Since they have camps, they're morally superior.
Stupid of me.
'gurge: Lots of stuff showing up at Sigonella, I have read.
What does BBC mean when they write that the French are preventing Libyan government military action?
Sounds at first that the flights are recon and now actually doing something.
You either shoot or you don't and the news report should indicate which it is.
Fog of war, and all that, old chap. What do you want, instant Thucydides?
How about some cellphone vid posted?
My guess is that the French will fuck this up, bigtime.
The Brits don't seem too confident in the planning. Hope there won't be a big SNAFU, but things look kind of iffy right now.
The problem is that the West is showing its hand. Obama says we'll be done in days not weeks, there will be no boots, and so on.
Kadhafi isn't supposed to know that. That is about Obama keeping anemic poll numbers just there and not much lower for all this.
Now, Sarko is playing it the same way:
If Gadhafi desists, allied nations would be willing to negotiate with him, Sarkozy said.
"There is still time for Col. Gadhafi to avoid the worst by complying immediately and unreservedly with all the demands of the international community," he said. "The doors of diplomacy will open once again when the aggression stops."
Huh? Sarko and the rest should say they will start shooting the place up like fucking mad if Kadhafi doesn't knock it off, wait a bit, and then do it if he doesn't.
So OK, the French bombed a jeep or something. Better than nothing.
