No 911, but at the same time Johnny Muhammed sniped, UNC got car derbied, LAX got a little cleansed of Jews, as did Seattle, as did Houston, as did New York, a Greyhound driver got a slice of Jihad, a not quite magnificent 17 set out to make Harper a headless horseman, etc.... It seems that Cheney was arguing that AQ, fighting for its ass on its home turf, was in no position to carry out an operation the size and scope of 911? Which of course would not mean that IM, a much more extensive reality than merely AQ, was not capable of inspiring the Believer to action locally throughout the US. Nor would it mean that AQ itself would not be able to carry out some smaller scale efforts in other regions.
