Interesting, MFT !

It seems we have been cursed the Gods of Maize: "Pollan meditates on the freakishly protean nature of the corn plant and looks at how the food industry has exploited it, to the detriment of everyone from farmers to fat-and-getting-fatter Americans. Besides Stephen King, few other writers have made a corn field seem so sinister"

Hey, AA, you forgot to add the label Karl Rove. You evil genius" Evidently, he dunnit -- slipped a slab of pork fat in Dennis' veggie-tofu burger. The reaction must have been dramatic. No automatic paper dispenser could have handled this.

From the Wonkette comments section: Is Dennis holding a Mexican flag in that picture? If so, then I think everything starts to fall into place.

Karl Rove, the Evil Genius, is laughing in his Taco Pastor

What's a Taco Pastor? Never tried that one. But I went recently to a Qdoba -- boy, those burritos are humungous!

Haven't been to a Qdoba yet, but they'll make their way up here for sure. A Taco [al] Pastor is one which has a spicy marinated grilled pork filling with, perhaps, some guacamole and/or sour cream, and peppers. It is very tasty, and definitely vegan/kosher/halal unfriendly. In Houston the local taquerias would offer tacos, tortas, burritos al pastor, cheap and of good quality. Given Rove's physique I'd wager he's tried one or two in his Tejas visits

You look at South Dakota corn fields in a whole new way after reading this book.

Yeah, AI, Qdoba's makes a big burrito. You can even order 'em "naked" and they just put all the filling in a bowl. Their crispy taco chips go kind of nice with it (adds a little crunch). And, of course, a Dos Equis lager.
