Swift has given a different connotation to the phrase "a modest proposal", so at first I didn't see the connect between title of post and article. But, once you forget about riding on Swift's boat, it makes sense.
I remember that friggin pinko chaplain -- but he was in NYC, close by Columbia, from what I remember: either Riverside Church, or St. John the Divine. All ban-the-bomb, better-red-than-dead jabbering, all the time. Joys of Planet Pepe! (Was Obama in the pews, I wonder?)
So what about Swift? I think it is a proposal, that seems modest and probably will sway anti-religious types better than an appeal to Jesus' words and deeds.

Are we back to Shannon Coffin? Who the heck is s/he? I tune out when I see this name.
I wonder if she is related to Rev. Coffin, that Yalie chaplain back in the 60s and 70s who egged on so many of the Leftie anti-war types?

don't think so. I think Baracky was at Columbia in the mid-late 80s.
Any news on tomorrow, AI?

Read Swift's "A Modest Proposal". That's my modest proposal.
