So has this modern-day Socrates run Portugal into the ground, yet, or is he still working on it? I haven't followed politics over there in a long time, anything out of the ordinary EuroSoc mush going on? From a cursory look, it doesn't sound like this José Sócrates Carvalho Pinto de Sousa is half as pinko as Zapatero.
He's about half as pink as Zapatero. He's running Portugal into the ground, but it has not yet crashed and burned. Slow but sure is the Portuguese way.
Jose' Mourinho is as close as Portugal has to a Kasparov.
