A modest proposal

Why not?

Yeah. I think this is probably not too bad, but she will have to keep quiet in swing states where voters like you call the shots. Can't have any real conservatives there.

Right, right. But the job requires discipline (something evidently Steele does not possess). How about Palin? Can she actually manage to hold a semi-real job, such as Chairman of the RNC, and do it well (as opposed to just talking, or tweeting)? I wouldn't hold my breath, but it may be worth a try.

Alaska gov was a real job, Tecs.

Yeah, yeah. But that was short, and she quit in mid-term. What has she done, lately? She could use some real experience, if she wants to move up. Being a talking head is not enough.

She did better (and served longer?) than Romney. She didn't wreck the state.

Romney served a full term as Mass Gov. He did not "wreck" the state, though indeed he signed a misguided piece of legislation. Nuance, Herr Rot, nuance.

In the meantime, Mac wakes up, way after I prodded him to. Where's my VCP?

Romney wrecked the state. Let's see how you guys get out out of proto-Obamacare. That will be a major catastrophe.

Mac should have been a lot more forceful. Steele's on the ropes and McCain needs to show his right-wing bona fides. He should have outright called for Steele's resignation.

Of course, I could be wrong and could have missed some aspect of the problem that makes Steele's staying on desirable, but it's pretty hard to see that many fuck-ups not get paid off with a firing.

Steele is twisting slowly in the wind. Can't last much longer. I'm betting a nickel on Palin.

I hope you're right, but I think the WFB-wing still has some pull around the top echelons and don't want anyone that actually has the right ideas.
