Yeh. There's a little indoctrination to go with the appreciation of natural beauty. In the old days it would have been the glory of God being hammered into the viewer, I suppose. Now the basket ends up in Kofi's bank account instead of the Bank of the Holy Spirit in Rome.

I am with you, AI. Even if you have nothing to do with Christianity, you can appreciate what the popes did with the money. Isn' t there some story about some sultan keeping his barbarians from damaging the Hagia Sophia?
What does the UN do with the money? Pay Pakistanis to rape Congolese?

This question would be right up AA's alley. I know it was mandatory to let the barbarians have their way with the city (women included) for at least three days. For some reason I think Mehmett II ordered the Hagia Sophia as off-limits for pillaging. Damn I wish Runciman was sitting right here.
