This pseudo-logic reminds me of "Mr. Straman", who would dismiss a priori an article if it came from, say, the New York Post, or the Washington Times. Isn't that narrow-minded?
Jeremiah Wright has handed John McCain much needed ammunition to use against Barack Obama in a general election campaign. Will McCain be skillful enough to use it without sustaining self-inflicted wounds of his own?
The 1st paragraph is stupid as shit. What the hell could McCain do now to make the situation any worse for Obama? Jeremiah is all over the news.
Up until now, McCain has preferred to let his biography draw quiet contrasts. "Hope, my friends, is a powerful thing," McCain said in his Potomac primaries victory speech on Feb. 12. "I can attest to that better than many, for I have seen men's hopes tested in hard and cruel ways that few will ever experience."
"Offensive"? My, my, my. What raises your hackles so much in the American Spectator to use such big words? Must be pretty thin-skinned for that. OK, it's not the best journal -- Tyrell used to be quite good in the 1980s and early 1990s, but his magazine has been slipping ever since. Nevertheless, it's got some reasonable stuff now and then.
Be that as it may, I still think McCain is too much of a pussy to fight mano-a-mano in this campaign. Moreover, whatever fight he has in him, he uses it against people on his right (as he's been doing for the past 8-10 years), never laying a gloved on the pinko-lefties. If that's the definition of "moderate", why not run as a Democrat (as he almost did in 2004, with Kerry), instead of a Republican?
In 2000 I had full confidence in McCain fighting hard for things worth fighting for. In 2008 I have no such confidence in him. And this has nothing to do with the American Spectator, or any other journal or media outlet.
I'm willing to give McCain a chance -- given the alternative(s) -- but I'm thoroughly underwhelmed by him. He's up now in the polls, but not because anything he's done or said. Is this how he expects to win the election in the Fall -- just sitting there, and praying the other guy (presumably, Obama) will screw up? Rather lame strategy...

There's likely an aphorism in the Art of War to back it up, but it's probably better to let Obama's pastor do all the talking from here on out. McCain doesn't need to say anything for Obama's Right Reverend to bring down Barrack's campaign.
I don't buy that. Wright will shuddup at some point (he pretty much did, didn't he?), and the media will help Obama squirm out of this jam. Then what? McCain has to earn being elected, not just sit there for the next 8 months, waiting for Obama to make a mistake.

I am supposed to respond to a post from the American Spectator? What for? The masthead is the article's own repudiation.
(1) What's wrong with the AS? (2) How does the masthead repudiate the article? JJ, try linear logic, for a change. Like, A==>B==>C.
$a\in AS\Rightarrow a=BS.$

Could be. I'll have a look, but I doubt that a party rag of extremists will have good advice for a moderate's run for the presidency.

Perfect. What does AS want, now?

Offensive to logic.

Congrats, AI! In the whole of cyberspace, you're the biggest yo-yo. Hurray for us!
