Berlusconi's People of Freedom bloc won 47 percent of the votes, the highest score ever for an Italian coalition - 340 seats in the national assembly. Veltroni's Democratic Party received 38 percent of the votes and 239 seats. Thus, Berlusconi ends up with a parliamentary majority of 101 seats, an Italian record.
Wow! I didn't realize the margin was so big -- the coverage I'd read so far had not mentioned that! Seethe, Pepe, seethe!! The extremist parties of both left and right almost evaporated. The Communists, one of the two largest parties in Italy for more than half a century, together with their extreme-left allies, ended up with just 3 percent of the votes and no seats.
Again, wowsers! I sttill remember those dark days of the mid-1970s, when the commies in Italy would score over 30% of the vote, getting quite close to gaining power (without help from Russian tanks, that is. Quite an implosion for the extreme pinko left. Berlusconi's message was unabashedly pro-American, promising to strengthen transatlantic relations, especially in the context of the global War on Terror.
Well, that assumes the US stays pro-American after this election (and keeps fighting the WOT). Not clear at all...
I love this truly. The only Italian courts respected by sodding lefists are those condemning Berlusconi. Hey, Econorag! Fuck off and respect democracy!

Well, at least the NY Post likes him.
So does any non-Socialist out there...
I have to find the article about Berlu from that socialist rag The Economist.
There you go.
Here's a nice summary.
Hey, Rip van Pepe, this is musty stuff, from 2003. Much happened since then.

Interesting Pepe. WTF is berluscastop.it? Has Econodouche logo but I don't see any real affiliation.
Looks like a random BDS (Berlusconi Derangement Syndrome) site.
These derangement syndrom sites are never random

Yeah, he used to be a crook 5 years ago but now he has found Jesus and is fighting over a place in heaven with Mother Theresa.
Good for him. Forza, Berlu.
Il n'y a pas de pire aveugle que celui qui ne veut pas voir, it seems.
JJ - this is all reprinted from The Economist. Only they charge you for it.
Pepe admitted :"Il n'y a pas de pire aveugle que celui qui ne veut pas voir, it seems"
That is good, Le Pew, it all begins with Knowing Thyself.
Ah, a clever tu quoque comeback.

Is always bigger than the mote.
