Where'd he get that idea?

Sen. Barack Obama on Saturday tried to clarify what he meant when he said some small-town Pennsylvanians are "bitter" people who "cling to guns and religion."

Hill jumps in:
"Barack Obama's elitism allows him to believe that the American traditions that have contributed to the identity and greatness of this country are actually just frustrations and bitterness."

Suburban bible-thumpin' gun nuts are what make this country great?
Is there anything too ridiculous to state when you're running for office?

He got that idea from Versailles, as all proper aristos do. After all, isn't that what the Revolutionary War was all about, making the world safe for Versailles?

Pepe, you can leave it to me, an American, to confront the boring and oft-uttered phrase "gun-totting bible thumpers." No worries there. In fact, they've been confronted since the country was founded, and I'll continue this dialog so long as I'm alive.

I'm just curious, but do you hold American citizenship, Pepe?

...and seriously, Pepe, I don't mean that in any kind of xenophobic way. I'm just curious, that's all.

Obama's speech played well with his rich donors from San Francisco (where he delivered it), but I kind of guess it won't resonate much outside the usual pinko enclaves. Even he realizes now that he made a mistake by letting the ingrained lefty contempt for the little guy (whom they supposedly defend!) show up, so he's trying furiously to backtrack. Hah!

You are wondering how deeply imbedded the sleeping cells are? Just a green card, but enough for the worm to be in the apple!
