Here's to the Librarians...

While I enjoy the cosmopolitan, the City as the saying goes, there's also a reality of how tough a scholar or academic needs to be when attempting to bring the catalog to the more provincial areas of the American West. I enjoy reading a good theory set down by an Ivy League-er, but also wonder if they could hack a serious week of provincial fieldwork? Why would they want to? Who knows, who knows. As well, it takes more effort to be someone who reads books in a sea of philistines who regard reading as a "waste of time" than it does in a City where variety and literature is the norm.

The Librarian, I&II...my daughter loved those two silly, harmless flicks. Newhart's swan song.
But not quite as much as Ferguson loved the image of Sarah Palin as The Naughty Librarian. But then he is a self-admitted hopeless buffoon of a man.
