There are just intermediate states as Socialism kills democracy over a century rather than in a few years. Unless an outside force intervenes, the democracy corrupts and is replaced by straightforward State power. As is the source of your constant ululation.
Imprisoning people for their thought is a fine start, and one France is proud to embrace. But at least you can say this much; England has been a "Socialist Democracy" longer, and so is definitely further down the road of that Socialism killing that democracy. The economy was booming under Clinton because he was personally a political opportunist and saw nothing wrong with letting Capitalism do its thing if he would be the one to benefit from it. And, importantly, because his wife's heavily Statist tendencies were stymied by a Republican party which was not yet led by idiots or cowards.
The grab for Government power under Obama will permanently undermine not only our Constitution and the Bill of Rights, but will follow that evisceration of our political virtues with the enshrinement of a Socialism that will, at best, be Peronist.

This day, the world is overrun with people like Le Pew Soros and those that ululate with them. They want the Sky to fall on this country, and in Obama they have found their man. The 20th century was a brute and brutal testament to the "logic" of Socialism, and the only places where its effects were checked were precisely those where this then yet Free Republic fought for it to be checked. Without our being an engine for a genuine democracy there would be none today in Europe, Asia, Africa, or the Americas. Never mind the partial or hybrid ones, which are to democracy what the cancerous body is to the healthy self.
Now that your Socialist wetdream has taken firm hold in this country, there ain't gonna be no more engine for anything but the smiles of the Castros, and MadJads, and Chavezes everywhere.

Hard, of course, for one too long in NOLA pent, where Idiocy is the default modus operandi, and psyche's substitution of what you wish was so, for what is, is all that makes that cesspool other than a Hell.
It is there, in the world, that our Obamean government is nationalizing the american banking and automotive industries. It is there, in the world, that our President considers it within his powers, and acts on that power, to takeover private enterprises and to command them, on threats of punishment, to his political bidding. It is there, in the world, that 2 trillion dollars are allocated to some vast slush fund which is then spread around the country to establish not libraries, or schools, or roads, or the infrastructure for future industries, none of the traditional common goods people have freely chosen as the role of public funds in this nation, but instead to government or quasigovernment agencies or "community organizer groups" for the establishment of.... the power of those agencies and groups. Unelected power, and accountable only to the federal government which is creating and building them. It is there, in the world, that Obama's vision of a "national civil force as large, as well armed, as well funded as our military" gets started up with hundreds of millions of Tarp dollars. It is there, in the world, that our President can go to civilian groups and warn them that if they don't do his bidding then the White House media will make them regret it. It is out there, in the world, that the maistream media, and certainly that which covers the White House, is precisely playing the role suggested by Obama's use of such threats. It is there, in the world, that massive voter fraud, carried out by ACORN and in full cooperation of the Obama campaign, has become simply the way the Democrat Party functions. And there are many many more examples, all in less than 5 months of Obama's rule.
Pepe, that is true Socialism that is being born in this nation, and although it may only be under 5 months into that dream you, as a good fellow traveler, understand the the wetjoyism to cum takes a minimum of a decade or two to truly spring forth. Meantime, in your mind, just the thought of it stimulates your package.
By the time of the third Centennial of this nation, the Constitution and the notion of a free republic will have so long murdered as to be simply History--if history even be honestly taught at that point. You or I will not be here to "anjoy", as you say, that wetdream. But your children or grandchildren will.
