If the boat was ok, and so on, and in 10 days he was at 150 miles, he was doing alright.
Some fear defeated him.

As for Pepe, fear would defeat him before he started. Which would, admittedly, be cheaper for us.

It does, Tecumseh, it does. But it would have been quicker than simply extrapolating because [and I'm assuming this was his plan] if he entered into the Gulf stream he could piggy back on it for a fair stretch-longer but much faster. Anyway, he Fogged up

Fascinating. On the other hand, if one of those Coastguardsmen had ended up in the pond, what would the Frenchie guy have said? Oops, excuses-moi? And, by the way, how come Frenchies have so much time on their hands (and spare change) to organize these "adventures"?

Yup, they do the Pacific, the Atlantic, maybe one day the Indian. That's the joy of Socialism. When you are on the dole for life, well you've got to find something to fill up that doleful life.

As for spare change, it seems it came from people who heeded his requests for monies rather than himself. Probably from Limeys who were eager to see a Frog drown in a big pond.
