Harry's wisdom

"Nine times out of ten someone stumbles upon you when you're having a shit." This is deep. We need an NIH study to verify the hypothesis.

Counterpoint (from rchdsmth, March 2, 2008 3:54 PM): Ok, Marina, we all get the point. You despise royalty, and wish you lived under communism, which would turn out OK in merry old England under you and your colleague's proper guidance. No misapplication of socialist philosophy from you! And, the royals need not fear being shot and buried in the woods. You drip with sarcasm when discussing royalty under any circumstances, preaching to the converted all the while. At no point in your article did you entertain the notion that Prince Harry had no choice whatsoever in being born a royal, but DID exercise choice in being a soldier in Afghanistan. His presence had to be a secret for practicality's sake, namely the concentration of the enemy's attention on his particular position, and the additional danger to his FELLOW SOLDIERS, not necessarily his highness. Hey Marina (even your name sounds good ol' Commie and Russian), sorry! I truly am, you living under the boot of the Royal Family. You seem to make a bit of money from writing about them though. Curiously, I believe you don't really resent them one bit. Just a thought or two from one of us fat Americans.

I wonder if Marxists will ever transcend these birthchance value-judgments (afterall, it's no more anyone's fault for being born a, ahem, Noble, than it is of any other class). It seems that Marxists are about as equally obsessed with the notion of Royalty as actual royalty. It's akin to the paparazzis who obsess over Hollywood celebrities, and the readership that fuels it all.

From JJ's article: Senior officers seemed ready to treat their personnel as heroes, for cosying up to their captors. For Hearts of Oak, read hearts of mush.

I heard Iranian media did a fine job with manipulating the video they released. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the British naval crew smiling was taken immediately after they were told their other British comrade prisoners were alive, and to be joining them shortly. Did anyone else hear this?

I didn't. I thought they were yucking up with the mullahs so they could keep their heads. Find a link, MFT.
