You're making progress, JJ. I did exactly the same thing -- first I read the headlines, no mention of what party the guy represents. Then I checked wiki, to confirm my 99% hunch. Then I went to NYT, and had to wait to 3rd para to find out. If this had been Pataki (or McCain!) the info would have been in the title. 100% guaranteed.
Only in puritaniland is this anything more than a private issue. You will recall that I said the same thing regarding our own bible-thumping David Vitter who got caught a few months back in pretty much the same scandal. With the difference of course that Vitter built his entire career peddling schmamily values to goody-two-shoes louisianans - which makes him a little bit of a hypocrite, of course. Me, I really don't give a shit whom the politicos pork (as long as they don't tell me what to do with my porker).
In one such case in 2004, Mr. Spitzer spoke with revulsion and anger after announcing the arrest of 16 people for operating a high-end prostitution ring out of Staten Island.
“This was a sophisticated and lucrative operation with a multitiered management structure,” Mr. Spitzer said at the time. “It was, however, nothing more than a prostitution ring.”
Well I suppose this makes spitzer a hypocrite too.
Pepe's got a point, and I don't mind some guy requesting a knock from a knock-shop. Vice cops suck.
The hypocrisy, however, is that he was understandably Righteous in his professional life. In his personal life, though, he tended towards Libertarianism.
Yeah, as the attorney general he would be kind of obliged to uphold the law (no matter how dumb said law is). Judging by the photographs of the press conference today though, it is reasonable to surmise that the designer pussy he was getting for a grand a pop was more playful than ol'grouchy.
I heard on TV that that "designer pussy" cost $4,300 an hour. Hey, I spent half a day yesterday writing a review for which I get $8 -- but not cash, just coupons. Ah well...
Yeah, where the hell is the pic of the chick? Or wait: it was a sting operation, right? So perhaps the only hot thing about the chick cop was her voice.

I guess, although he could have preached like he acted and ran on the Libertarian ticket — about as electable as someone running on a Green Party ticket. So he clearly wanted to get elected and opted for the Dem party.

Wow. NYT gets to telling us he's a Dem on paragraph 3. Things are improving, in a pinch...

The post reports $4,300 (including travel) for the fun.

Oops, I see that Pepe beat me to the punch with that $4,300 figure. Was it per hour, or per trick?
How come we don't get a look at the chick?
Hey Pepe, you're not wanting to pork the cat again, are you? The vet is still pissed off...

Whatever.
Now are the foxes!
In such situations, does the risky behavior precede the powerful job? Or does something about being in power cause the behavior?
Being a male and mammal might have some influence in it all, too.
more fun
JJ, these links are good.
Yes. A cottage industry in the making. Can an endorsement for Chanel #5 be far behind?
