Pepe's Impressions and Reality

Pepe: "I found the quick mention of rape at the beginning quire puzzling too. Has this been documented ? I was always under the impression that the soviets had behaved decently"

..............
Natalya Gesse, a Soviet war correspondent, gave a first‐hand
estimation of Red Army’s activities, and stated that “The Russian
soldiers were raping every German female from eight to eighty.
It was an army of rapists.”2

Honestly, I am very surprised at the notion of someone thinking that in the Soviet moves through Poland and into Germany they had "behaved decently". [Unless simply considered relative to the Holocaust].

Pepe, this is as well-known as anything from WWII. Shame on you. The Soviets were very much in competition with the Germans to produce the greatest atrocities.

They lacked the German organizational skill or they would have produced outstanding low entropy horrors like Auschwitz out in the field-they certainly showed the inclination.

They had to settle for home territory to put those impulses into action.

BTW, haven't you ever meet Russians? Not to cast aspersions, but they're different.

Russian men are some of the weirdest I've ever met. At least the ones I came across a couple months ago in Mongolia.

I missed that Pepean gem. Despite that attempt at denial of those unspeakable crimes against humanity, of course the Red Army raped, killed, and pillaged with abandon when it broke into Central Europe in 1944-1945. And these were not local, isolated incidents, but rather, they were perpetrated on a mass scale, with the at least tacit agreement of the Stalinist State. Anyone trying to stop these horrors, or object to them, was brutally repressed. Eg, Alexander Soljenytsin (you've heard of him, Pepe, yes?) wrote of his disgust about the Red Army killings and rapings to a buddy -- his letter was intercepted by the KGB, and he was sent to the Gulag.

At any rate, this is documented in dozens of books, countless eyewitness accounts, etc. I personally heard about some of these crimes from survivors -- and these were from Romania, who did not bore the full brunt of raping fury of the "liberating Soviet Army": the Baltic States and Germany did.

Here is a brief overview of the subject, and here is just one specific instance.

Of course, none of these war crimes was ever prosecuted, and neither the Soviets nor their successor states ever apologize for any of these atrocities, let alone repent, atone, or pay any compensation. But what do you expect -- that's the pinko way of doing business.

Kraut repentances have come from the pinko side, AI. When they try to call the CDU the outgrowth of National Socialism, the Socialists often put on a show of remorse for the actions of the National Socialsist.

Well, OK, let me be more precise about those colors--red, not pinko.
