Back to Cunti's interview

The student pressed again about whether waterboarding was torture.

“By definition, if it was authorized by the president, it did not violate our obligations under the Conventions Against Torture,” Ms. Rice said, almost quoting Nixon’s logic: “When the president does it, that means that it is not illegal.”

What everyone on FCP has been saying about Obama for the last 3 months.

REGURGE for Kaus, who walks back Obama's cat to a homo history-inventor, incidentally one of Tecs' fruity think tank. [[Rot]]

Le Pew is straight down the "Party Line". His little contribution to the Radiant Future. Not an independent thought reverberates through the hollowness of what was intended to house a brain.

A case study of what pinko education does to what, perhaps, could have been an independent, vibrant mind. A mind is a terrible thing to lose.

Pepe le Pew said...

Ahem, when was the last time either of you "independent minds" voted for a dem ?

As Mr. Obama said in his news conference, it is in moments of crisis that a country must cleave to its principles. Asserting that “waterboarding violates our ideals,” he said he had been struck by an article describing how Churchill would not torture prisoners even when “London was being bombed to smithereens.”

“And the reason was that Churchill understood, you start taking shortcuts and over time, that corrodes what’s best in a people,” he said. “It corrodes the character of a country.”

Knuckleheads on FCP cannot parse this.

Knucklehead Pepe, Churchill had quite a few gerries mistreated in Kensington.

That's not how things went. When they felt they had to, the Brits did torture some German prisoners.

Oh, I see Mr Rot also got into the act, beating up on the usual Pepean bs. It's like shooting fish in a barrel. But you gotta be quick!

Last time I voted for a Dem, at any level, was 2002.

Mr roT said...

What level were you on, AA? Pre-Kerry fetish?

Arelcao Akleos said...

Well, never did vote for a Dem in 2004. The level was state senator in Minnesota. Heard both the candidates speak, and the Republican was such a hopeless bozo he made the Dem look halfway decent that night.
By the way, had it been Lieberman vs McCain in 2008, woulda gone with Joe over John.
Of course he was an independent by then....
Gad I hope the opposition to Obama gets someone worthwhile, before its all too late.

Cool how you regurge things, Mr Rot? But when are you gonna share this nugget knowledge with the rest of us? It's not like Sir Isaac Newton hiding Calculus after he invented it, for Chrissakes!

On votin Democrat: In the People's Republic where I live, there are only Democrats to pull the lever for once you get below the level of Senator (where we have two Senators-For-Life to rubber-stamp once in a while). At any rate, sometimes I vote for one these people (State Senator, judge, notary public, dog catcher, whatever), if either (1) I recognize the name, and it's not someone who pissed me off too badly or (2) I don't recognize the name, but I figure someone gotta do the job, and how bad can this guy be, and/or what difference can this make? Joys of pinko nirvana.
