Tecumseh said...: I didn't know he was in bad shape. Jack Kemp was great in his prime. I actually wrote to him a couple of times in the late 1970s, and he graciously responded. He's the guy who pushed Ronnie in the direction of supply-side economics -- the very antithesis of present-day socialism. By the time Kemp ran with Bob Dole in 1996, he was past his prime, alas (so was Dole, of course). Still, in hindsight, it was a better run campaign than McCain's. Hasta la vista, baby.
