The NY Daily news and geography
Note the caption under the photograph: there is apparently a village called "Mali" in a country called "Africa". There is also an illiterate janitor at the Daily News that doubles up as editor.

The editorial standards at the NY Daily News are not the same as those at the New Yorker, that's for sure.
We've never been at war with a 'Mali'. How are we supposed to know what it is?
y'all are missing out: i hear that village is replete with shock-and-awe-starved muslims.
