I'm not sure what the Cole thing has to do in this list - it is obviously not an act of terror.
The tricky one is the Munich hostage crisis. Without this (and arafat), the palestinian situation would still be entirely ignored.

Neither Cole nor the Marine barracks attack in the 80s were "acts of terror". And that is because they were direct acts of war. All the listed acts were acts of war in the name of Islam Militant.
Why this focus on the relative few directly aimed at Yanks [with a nod to a couple of Eurotargets]? By far the greatest number of such acts of war have been in Asia and Africa, which coincided neatly with where Islam Militant has had its greatest successes.
The list is incomplete, and also I was a little curious about the mention of Timothy McVeigh, and the absence of David Koresh and the Waco Compound.

As close as much of that part of the world is to life and death, metaphysical salvation — that there is something better than this sick-sick world after death — is all the more appealing. Maybe Pepe could go over there and teach them the wonders of science instead? At least I was in Uzbekistan with the Peace Corps for similar reasons.
