OK, OK, let's not kick a man when he's down. Bottom line, though, is that Giuliani never really got into the game, after sitting on a huge lead for months on end. You never heard me say anything really bad about him -- just that he's not a good campaigner, and not a good fighter, and in that I think I was proved right. I won't crow -- I like the guy, and wish him well -- but one needs to recognize facts, and be astute when talking about politics. Yes, JJ?

Now it comes down to Cool Hand McCain vs. Mormon Mitt's Holy Underpants.

Huckabee should just return to Arkansas.

Huck will tough it out into Super Tuesday. After that. I don't know, he may just throw in the towel, and endorse McCain?

bullshit, ai. he didn't have any other viable strategy. the jesus freaks would have crucified him and since the primaries have the schedule they do, the others built momentum.

Huck is a joke.

Excuses, excuses. Ideologically, Giuliani is not that far from McCain, yet McCain came out swinging. Nobody prevented Giuliani from competing, say, in NH, or even Iowa. It was bad political instincts on Rudy's part, that's all. Just take it like a man, JJ, with a stiff upper lip. No need to blame it on others.

JJ, sorry about the cutoff on talk. Battery ran out of power on the cell phone.
So, McCain or Romney.
I liked Guiliani also. But he did run a poor campaign. He needed some real savvy advisors to bridge the NYC versus national politicking. Guess he didn't have them.
As for the Obama and Hillary show, that is fascinating in a sick and sad sort of way.
Onto "super" tuesday

Hey, AA. I bet your phone works while on charge... Anyway, thanks for the talk. Will send you something to look at whether you have time to look at it or not these days. Tell me when you're going into town. Maybe set you up with dinner in JP...

Thanks, JJ. I tested the phone once plugged in for recharge, but it stayed "power off". Apparently it needs some recharge to make a go, even if plugged in.
Yeah, I need to wing it to Boston. Will talk later.
G'night

When I used to use my Nokia cellphone, sometimes I needed to turn it off completely for it to take a charge. Just throwing that out there.

strange. never owned one, I don't think. Admire the Finns though. interesting.

What's a cell phone?

Why do Texans bet on the weak horse?

I'll have to amazon.com Langobard Paulus Diaconus next week.

Yes, MFT. The mediterranean wanderlust produced lots of interesting old paper. Marco Polo the greatest of course. I was happy to find the page above. Tell me how Langobardus turns out.

AI, looking at LGF, I think most of the right that doesn't care much about putting Christmas back into the Supreme Court was pulling for Giu. Romney and Huckabee seem like fake carpetbaggers and though McCain is the real deal, he's a guy that will make a deal. He's been in the Senate since Cato. OF course he is. He's got some foolishness about global warming and is willing to alienate nativists with an amnesty for illegal immigrants. Further, he got very dirty with McCain-Feingold.

Still, in my opinion, he's even better than Bush n the WOT and won't do too much damage on the rest.

Giuliani would have been better, my compatriots are correct. But sell to a bunch of Biblethumpers that he's got gay friends and bounced through the ladies' room more times than slick Willie, and you've got a problem, Houston.

I hope it's McCain-Giuliani or Giuliani among the supremes then. LGFers are talking AG. Sounds ok to me too, but maybe a demotion from mayor (and savior) of the big apple.

Methinks Rudy will just fade into the sunset. We'll see. And, I haven't given up on Mitt, I still hope he puts up a fight. Yes, Mac is better at fighting the wot. But he's older than Cato, and too much of a DC wheeler-dealer. And, even if he wins, Mitt needs to position himself for the next round, in 2012...

Mitt would lose to Hillary or Obama. I would prefer not have straight down te line liberal votes Obama style or Clintonian corruption. You hope Romney fights and if he does, the Dems have the WH.
