When was the last time Europe passed America on the right? It does sound unnatural, but with Pepe leaving France for the Deep South, maybe it was the butterfly effect that did it.
Yes, I was thinking of that. But then again, France in the late 30s was still much to the left of the US (think Front Populaire, Leon Blum -- the full pre-Vichy Pepe). At any rate, let's start then the clock at the end of WWII, which, after all, is the start, more or less, of the "modern" era. Since then (and up to January 2009), clearly, the US has been consistently to the right of Europe -- even in the late 70s, no?
