I thought I made my position clear on this: I'd rather have a Scottie type of guy in a pinkish-blue state than a cookie-cutter Pepe clone. Now, like any general rule, there could be exceptions. But, in this case, Christine O'Donnell doesn't look like a strong prospect to me (and rather flaky, to boot), so why make an exception?
Note that this is totally different than the McCain-J.D. situation: as I said many times, McCain is way to the left of the electorate in AZ, so it was very reasonable to support a candidate more aligned with the prevailing view in that state. Now, Mac woke up and spend scads of money to beat up on JD (incidentally, some of that money he had saved from his 2008 race -- he'd rather spend it to defeat JD than BHO), who turned up to have some baggage of his own. Ah well, life is too complicated.
