Catastrophe Now

To the American Left, kudos, a job well done. The near perfect 50 year series of moves of the fifth column now nears an imminent checkmate. Freedom, a nation aiming at equality under the Law, the right to individual pursuit of life and happiness...all about to be planted under that Boot Hill of History.
But for the Reagan gambit, it seems, this might well have been 30 years ago. But when one focuses with intent on the kill, patience is rewarded. And no doubt Victory slightly delayed will taste as bloody sweet.

Nice swallowtail pic you got there -- that's a Dali? Didn't know he dabbled into catastrophe theory at some point.

If Greece has been knocking back the ouzo, we're facedown in the vat. Michael Tanner of the Cato Institute calculates that, if you take into account unfunded liabilities of Social Security and Medicare versus their European equivalents, Greece owes 875 percent of GDP; the United States owes 911 percent – or getting on for twice as much as the second-most insolvent Continental: France at 549 percent.

Hah! We're beating the French at their own game!

There’s a famous exchange in Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises. Someone asks Mike Campbell, “How did you go bankrupt?” “Two ways,” he replies. “Gradually, then suddenly.”

Put that in your pipe, and smoke it!
