A. K. A. Loose Canon
There's lots of such wannabes in the Midwest. There is Ann Arbor, there is Minneapolis-St.Paul, there is Bloomington, there is Iowa City, there is, as we well know, Madison. At least Lafayette is no candidate.
The other such place that comes to mind is in the North-West: Eugene. I actually like that place, with its Berkeley-lite atmosphere. There are some nice hikes you can do around there.
Tecs needs a new pair of Birkenstocks.
Never had one. But I hear they're comfortable. I still can't bring myself to buying a pair, though my current sandals are killing me. What's your sage advice, Mr Rot?
I had a pair of Timberland sandals for awhile.
I like those shoes, but never bought their sandals. Will give it a try. Hey, man, you're a fountain of wisdom regarding shopping!
Bad news: I checked Timberland's website and they seem to be out of the leather sandals for men business. Have a look at Eastern Mountain Sports?
Not bad, right?
I have something similar (from Merrell), but they have something like a rigid sleeve lining the inside, which grips my foot real tight. When it gets hot outside (and it does now), my foot expands, and it's like medieval torture. I pretty much spent the summer wearing sneakers, instead. I've been too cheap (and/or too lazy) to go buy a better pair of sandals, instead...
The rigid sleeve seems a bad idea. Were these Russian shoes?
Nah, they're all made in China nowadays. On what planet do you live, Mr Rot?
Crikey, what the frick is it with you two blathering about your Bleu suede shoes?
