Will it be Ryan?

Remember, Tecs Rove put his (virtual) money on the green-eyeshades guy from Wisconsin. We'll know soon enough, like, tomorrow morning. If I'm right (and Kristol thinks I am), get ready for the obligatory Ryan-pushes-granny-over-the-cliff ad. [Pic is of the USS Wisconsin, where the announcement will be made.]

I like Ryan...but if he is the choice we can be clear on one thing: Romney is sufficiently stupid, or Harvard if you will, to snatch bloody Defeat out of the jaws of triumphant Victory

Why? You think Ryan is not up to it?

Morrissey's take.

I don't think Romney is up to it, and I think he needed a fiery VP to give the campaign the right stuff even if Mitt doesn't have it. Ryan is a lowkey guy, and has a economically sound, analytic, mind. But he is "not milquetoast" only in comparison to the likes of Mitt.
No doubt Ryan is in Romney's, and Rove's, comfort zone. And that is exactly the problem.

I think Morrissey is whistling "Dixie" while strolling through the graveyard of Brackett's Cavalry Battalion.

Fiery and intelligent? Hitchens is gone. And he pissed off a lot while he was around with his incontinence.
But is incontinence exactly "fiery"?

Tecumseh said...

AA: Fiery can be good (or not). But we're also talking here about governing. How do you fierily control a raging, astronomical debt? Like the Greeks do?

Mr roT said...

I think you don't fierily do anything except putsch.

If you don't have a fiery VP candidate to help out the soggy waterbread that is Romney you ain't ever gonna have a chance to govern, or to have the fire within you to confront the catastrophes of AmeriSoc.
Reagan was fiery, and he knew how to govern. Bush[s] was/ere not fiery, and knew not how to govern.
Having the fire of your convictions says squat about your ability to govern...but it does say a heck of a lot about your commitment to winning the chance to govern.
Romney's camp picked a very safe choice... a choice fit for the Rove'ian eye and the establishment's ease. Great.

Fiery = doddering in AA-Tecs universe.

Herr Rott still has his infatuation with Chris Dodd, after all these years? That is gloriously NCM.

Tecumseh said...

What's NCM? You guys are killing me with all these obscure acronyms.

Mr roT said...

NCM is noncommutative moronicity.
Duh, read your Connes.
