jj's right: ksm's probably confessed to more than he did, and that's the smart thing to do. Whether he committed 1 or all 31 of these acts, he'll be punished the same way. Might as well take the responsibility for all of them.

I've been wondering about that, actually, Pepe. Saddam did a good job at the end. He didn't act like a chicken like the other guys did. He argued rather cogently that the killings he was convicted of were a response to an assassination attempt,...
For KSM the situation is similar. There's no way he's getting out of this alive, so if he was doing this job of his out of conviction or he wants to damage us as much as he can now out of pure spite, he has a choice to make.
He could admit nothing and claim it's all a frame-up. But then his terrorist buddies might think and the US would certainly propagandize that he's a chickenshit not willing to die for his (real?) convictions. This would not inspire more suicide bombers as much as saying he did everything.
Of course taking responsibility fo every bit of misfortune that has come to the US since 1776 is ridiculous, and I wonder if he really had a hand in all this stuff. Maybe he's more important than al-Zawahiri and bin Laden. Then the terrorists should be upset that he's such a damned big fish and got caught.
Seems a min/max thing here to solve.
Only the anti-torture nuts get full satisfaction out of his admissions, I think. But no one serious on either side cares about them.

If nothing else, I buy the #2 and #3 confessions. That alone should give KSM a meeting with Old Sparky, sooner rather than later.
