On the northern steppe, we naturally get but don't pay for this kind of medical treatment. Seems to be working: my 91-year-old Swedish grandmother still helps clear the table after Thanksgiving dinner.

God bless her! Yes, I think cold weather is better in the long run for the body (and spirit) than hot, humid goo. No way I'll go to Floriduh!

The Spaniard really suckered the U.S. into thinking we were getting something "good." The whole state is a friggin' swamp!.. then again, I guess the Cuban exiles need somewhere to land.

Besides, they tend to get into trouble with gators, and even bookcases down there. Excessive heat and humidity is not good for one's health, that's for sure.

Let's not get too superior about our tastes, boys. Some mathematician that invented the Dirac operator retired to FSU. Must have been a football fan.

You mean, Paul Adrien Maurice himself? Yes, he did. A great man.

It does make a bit of sense. Of course, JJ is right in that heat is necessary if we're gonna have positive effects from the lack of heat. I'm thinking of a Scandinavian or Russian sauna, birch branches, and a plunge in cold water; or even the hotsprings in and around Bozeman, Montana.

Reykjavik could also be good.
