Is he her significant other? I heard someone say so, but how could a prof teach in the US, and have his wife work somewhere in Euroland? Sounds complicated to me.
Prof Html! Your link's broke! Found him anyway. But I think she has had more famous squeezes. That's what our Leed guy says anyhow. Incidentally, I posted her pic instead of Connes' because Leedsman had a thing for her in MIT days. Why do you think Carlos Simpson's is the way to look at Higgs? When I was studying QFT, incidentally, Higgs was considered the toilet. I wonder if that has changed.
Looked at Simpson's paper. Got a third of the way through it and didn't see a damned mass prediction. He wouldn't be one of those shameless mathematicians that sex up their grant proposals by giving their stuff physicsy names, would he?

Pfuiii... The real way to look at Higgs is here.

No, my link is not broken -- you just need to click on it harder.
Who is Leed?
Carlos Simpson: because.
Higgs: Something one should know about, yes. One of these days.

Anyone does that?
Heisenberg group. Quantum group. Schroedinger operator. Dirac operator. Einstein manifold. Crystallographic group. Gauge theory.
Need I go on?
OK, OK, I got it. You forgot bosonic strings, one of my pet peeves.
Yes, one prefers bosomic thangs
JJ, that is quite an MS you have strung together there
What's an MS?
