Kristol

and Bolton.

Kristol (with some developments from Bolton) makes the case for McCain's candidacy -- pretty much all he can bring to the table and still have a chance to win against the odds. As opposed to Obama, he (1) won't exclusively appoint social-activist judges and (2) won't crawl on all fours in front of terrorists and America haters. That's about it when it comes to McCain's case. Is that enough to carry him through? As everyone but JJ agrees, the odds right now are 6-4 in favor of BHO. Will things change until November? We'll see.

I really can't imagine BHO as POTUS. You heard a couple dyed-in-the-wool democrats this Saturday at lunch.

Yes, I saw that, and was surprised. But, but -- does it mean McCain should gear his campaign (eg, when it comes to VP choice) towards them, or towards moi?

AI, there's no way you're voting for Hussein or sitting on your hands (in a swing state) when you think about 3 Supreme Court justices and firing General Betray Us coming out of Obama.

This would be a catastrophe.

The People's Republic of Taxachusetts a swing state? You're delusional, JJ. But OK, if Mac doesn't piss me off too much, I'll hold my nose, and vote for him, though I very much doubt he can come within 20% of BHO in this state.

About Huck: yes, we agree on that, he would be a disaster. The guy just talks too much, and he invariably shoots himself in the foot -- did you see his off-the-cuff remark about Obama the other day? Huck is a loose cannon (more suited to be a talk-show host than an executive). Mac cannot afford that: being himself a bit nutty (let's face it, Pepe had a bit of a point there), he must put someone rock-solid, straight-as-and-arrow on the ticket with him.

AI, AI, AI, reading is fundamental. I was referring to a post here somewhere indicating that Cali is about 50-50 nowadays since the courts went funny over there.

I was just imagining that if you lived in Ohio, you would know the potential importance of your vote and avoid a trio of Ruth Bader Ginzburgs and a lot of hooey about our foreign policy being subject to the judgments of a bunch of headhackers (like your bud JFKerry said).

I think the Romanian word for this is hypothetical. Look it up!

JJ, JJ, JJ -- I don't know what you'ree talking about. The first rule of politics is that you can't beat somebody with nobody. So, it's all fine and dandy to keep on dreamin' about California, but, if there is not a single, flesh-and-blood Republican in that state that could conceivably run for any kind of national office, then why bother talking about it? Hypothetical, shmothetical -- this is just beating around the bush, or pounding sand, or whatever. Put something on the table, if you wanna talk about it.
