Fast trains
Of course, we were supposed to get something like this for a tiny fraction of the gazillions that went into the "stimulus", no? But the trains I use around here still go at speeds slower than Stephenson's engine, and I ain't seen a dime of that money go into upgrading the tracks or something. Just hot air.

The Pepeans are fond of the Classical Socialisms, so they opted for Soviet Transport.
You might think in this case, as for getting the trains to be on time, they might have opted for Mussolini model, but, nah, Soviet all the way down.
Personally, I'm looking forward to their GMing our airlines into some analogue of Amtrak. Maybe it'll be called "Aerosplat"
Tecs, you never take the train anywhere. You always drive around in an Aston Martin that you got with grant money.
