These look like New Yorker covers... Not bad if you like that style, but it seems more like entertainment than serious stuff, no?

Ah, yes, I missed the rich inner conflicts attendant in the man reading the paper while the anorectic chick walks by him on the subway platform.

My bad.

I don't think so. There's a reference to the Die Brücke artists Kirchner/Rotluff & Co, not only stylistically but also thematically with the same sense of alienation in the urban environment.
The abstract Rotluffs that fetch in the $30M (in the vein of those in the H-town chapel) I don't get and don't understand the context but this is good shit.

This guy knows how to put color on canvas.

I don't understand you when you say, "I don't get and don't understand the context but this is good shit." Art is communication. If you don't get it, then it doesn't communicate.

Those guys that inflate the prices of contemporary paintings to the millions are frauds.

I always need subtitles to appreciate abstract stuff and I don't think accessibility is a requirement. Just because Stravinsky isn't as pretty and immediate as Debussy's doesn't doesn't make it 'worse' even though it doesn't communicate as readily.

People inflate the prices on themselves. My, you are talking like a M-M-Marxist.

Freud beautiful. RIP.
