Ah, Versailles let's nuttin' interfere with its Party.......
What an exchange....the Captain reeks of fear.....and reeks of that cowardice that sees fear as a guiding light rather than a force to be controlled and overcome. Sad, pathetic, and too thoroughly emblematic of what happens when a man without character and the civilization that crafted him are found out.

Emblematic, indeed. A brave new world of unadulterated cowardice, simmering in a cloaca of narcissism, gluttony, crass incompetence, and sloth.
By the way, I was a couple of times in Livorno -- the home port of the boat and il cretino capitano, and saw this boat (or one very similar to it) in the bay there. It's a Red City par excellence: Politically, Livorno is one of the most left-leaning cities of Italy. The Communist Party of Italy was founded in Livorno on 21 January 1921. It figures.
Driving a boat like a Ferrari, then tripping into a lifeboat.
Day at the office.
