As for those known personally, there is a sharp split between those who have a warm fuzzy for the Sunni side of things [Contra Assad] versus those who like their Shiite [Contra those contra Assad]. The one Syrian Christian I know is strongly for Assad, on the grounds that Assad hasn't made a point of butchering Christians whereas the track record of his Sunni Islamist opponents, in that record, has been all about the bloody obvious. [Not particularly Christ like of him, to support butcher contra butcher, but, heck, look at how Christ ended up].
If you mean Les Massachusetts Bleu, well, they're mostly a terribly blissfully ignorant bunch quite happily clinging to whatever the Party Line tells them to cling to.

A tough call. But, in a pinch, Pepe will side with Assad, because Putin feeds him Rooskie attack choppers, and missiles to shoot down F4s.
anybody knows anybody that's on the syrian side ?
You mean, personally?
yes, i assumed we'd all heard of Putin.

So, will we ever hear from Pepe to hear what side he is on?
