Steyn sums up, yet again, the pinko-Kerry weltanschauung: it betrays the condescension of the certain kind of privileged Democrat toward the military, that only people who are too dumb and too poorly educated, and thus have no choice, go into the military. It's basically, you know, we support our troops, even though they're morons. And I think this reveals, is a glimpse into what the Democrats actually mean when they say we support our troops. They support them as victims, as children, as people too stupid to know better. But they don't support them in the mission they're fighting, thousands of miles away.
Steyn is merciless to these self-appointed moralists, safe inside the citadel of Western freedom, economic propriety, and the United States military, who, from the very ramparts they damn, praise the enemy ramming the gates below.
JJ: Yes, too many links leads to cognitive overflow, and loss of bearing. At some point, one needs to categorize. How about some simple horizontal lines in between categories?

I liked the banana peel analogy too.
More Steyn via VDH.
Good find, JJ. I'd lost track of VDH lately (actually, not as much Steyn as before, either). We need some permalinks!
Good idea. Stick something in the sidebar? The sideber needs to be put in categories. I fell in llove with too much stuff. Rockets, photographers...

A quote worth remembering.
