The unbearable moral superiority of the pinko-Left
What the story reveals, in the end, is the tiresome fashion in which our betters insist on politicizing not just every aspect of adult life, but every detail of their children's world. [...] What counts is the satisfied glow of a right-thinking parent when the Young Pioneer chants back the party line.

You could say that if a 6-year-old can figure it out, then the concept has been presented so simplistically it lacks a real-world application. But that doesn't matter; what counts is the satisfied glow of a right-thinking parent when the Young Pioneer chants back the party line.
Whoa!
Yes, that's the part I highlighted, too -- les grands esprits se recontrents, as the Frenchie say. Lileks is good, and getting better. Nothing (well, almost nothing) grates me more than the faux-superior, man-of-the-people airs of limousine liberals like Kedwards. I need a remontant each time I read or hear about it.
Seeing you are embedded in Boston, AI, it's hard for you to avoid the Kedwards....That is one advantage MFTs "Plains of Romania, West" has over the Hub. Let's hope he appreciates it while he has it : )
Well, on the other hand, when that wind from the North starts howling, and the hungry wolves start growling, maybe MFT will rather get down to somewhere warmer? Must take nerves of steel to survive the winter up there in the frozen tundras of NoDak.
MFT is pretty steely before the cold. But it's not THAT bad, AI. Minneapolis would get equally as cold, and when you came in from that cold, seeking human warmth and friendship, chances are you would be met with the icy look of loathing from the pudendas in Womyn's Studies. At least MFT, and his fellow Dakotans, have their warm friends, the sheep.
Aahhh, the sheep .. a recurring theme around here. How about them mountain goats?
Recurring theme wherever childish men gather.
You mean wherever old goats gather
I feel sheepish.
