Has it been as hot in Cincinnati as it's been in St. Louis? Sometimes the intense heat and humidity causes those on the brink to take that leap.

...in the end, though, I really feel as though the whole of humanity is always just barely hanging on.

I know the feeling, mft. And in those moments where humanity does not succeed in [barely] hanging on, all Hell breaks loose.
