Nice historical reference. Except when the market crashed in 1929, Hoover was president, and there was no television.

Tecumseh said...: Not a pleasant prospect. The problem with this logic is that it assumes the rest of the world stands still while we screw ourselves up. Remember, it did not stay still in 1976-1980 -- all sorts of bad things happened, which almost ran us into the ground. Could be even worse now.
