Iowahawk Takes His Post and Shoves it Like a Hockey Stick Up Mann's Mavening Arse

Much better than his original post on "Ace". Clear and with sufficient detail. More good statistics there than a thousand Pepe's bloomin'

" In all the talk of "models" and "smoothing" and "science" and "hide the decline" it became apparent to me that very very few of the people chiming in on this have even the slightest idea what they are talking about. This goes for both the defenders and critics of the scientists.

Long story, but I do know a little bit about statistical data modeling -- the principle approach used by the main cast of characters in Climategate -- and have a decent understanding of their basic research paradigm. The goal here is to share that understanding with interested laypeople. I'm also a big believer in learning by doing; if you really want to know how a carburetor works, nothing beats taking one apart and rebuilding it. That same rule applies to climate models. And so I decided to put together this simple step-by-step rebuilder's manual. Regardless of what side you've chosen in the climate debate (I'm not going to pretend that I'm anything but a crazed pro-carbon extremist) I hope this will give you a nuts-and-bolts understand what climate modeling is about, as well as give some context to the Climategate emails."

UPDATE: Iowahawk is all bullshit. The section on PCA is all nonsense.

This is truly a great job. I think Tecs posted something from American Thinker that was also very thorough.

Of course, AP says there is nothing to see in those emails, just keep moving on. Standard-issue MSM Party Line. Even the Pravda in its heyday was more inventive than that.

Hey, AA, how come you don't respond to my emails?

Ah, Tecumseh. I had not checked e-mails for a couple of days. However I have been attentively waiting for my brainfryer to start frying up. Never happened. hmmmmmm.......

Ok, just found it. Now I know that e-mail is in the equivalence class called "brainfryer".
It being Saturday night, if we're gonna meet it has to be Sunday. Or we could cast in iron a time for next weekend. Which works best for you?
As for getting a break from Gorebal Square or Hurltard Univ., sounds fine. Either Chinatown, or North End; both ok. Chinatown better?
I'll be watching for the smoke signals.

Email, cell-phone. Minsk, Pinsk. It's all the same gizmos. I only trust technology developed in Coanda's time.

Red Smoke at Night is For Gay Sailor's Delight, eh Ms. Rott

Rott, as I assume it is you. It is kinda a waste of time to sticky your regurgitation of Iowahawk on top of the ledger. Thank you for the lines in red. But no matter how holy the script it don't deserve to hang there above more recent posts.
If you've got something to add, then add it.
If you don't, then stop making your monkey spank himself so publically.

There are children watching.

There's some stuff wrong or at least ambiguous in what Iahawk says about proxy variables, AA.

Do you know anything about this stuff or are you into the hearsay circlejerk too?

Tecumseh said...

Herrr Rottt, Herrr Rottt, why do you regurge without warning this old post (in bold red letters, no less, so that we dim-witted can see it)? As AA says, a fresh post, with a link to this one, woulda been much better.

That said about the format, what about the content? You piss on Iowahawks Principal Component analysis, but with no explanation whatsoever. Sounds like total bs to me. Where are the facts, maam?

Mr roT said...

Sounds to me like you two wusses are unsure of how to regurge, jealous of my being able to type 'font color="red"' and on top of that, you're as willing to follow the anti-Mann as the Mann-followers are to follow Mann.

Read what Iowahawk says.

AA, we really gotta go out and chew up the Rotten Mann. Wed or Th? Either day works with me. How about Chinese for a change? Any dish that would inspire an anti-rot diatribe?

Mr roT said...

Why don't you guys go somewhere in the North End. Just tell me where and when, and I'll take care of the, uh, tab.

Tecumseh said...

Great idea! OK, we'll send you the tab, post-haste. Sky's the limit, yes?

Arelcao Akleos said...

Hey, Tecumseh, Thursday is fine. Let's go to Chinatown. Only question is, should I find someone to take care of my daughter or should she tag along? [We'd have to be a little more circumspect in reaming Arsemaven if so. Gad, the Rotter can't back up his red smoke with even the wisp of substance. The shameless Onanist]. Either way is fine.

Mr roT said...

The kid is my enforcer. She knows the power of Truth!

Tecumseh said...

Oh, bring her along. The more, the merrier. And that way, one gets to share more Chinese dishes. Let's think of some good one, so the Rotter will seethe even more. Betcha they don't have any decent Chinese food in Krautland.

Stelze. Austria rules.
