There is Always a Reason Why They Are Ever Our Friends and Allies
As awful as Obama is, he is simply the omega point of a process that began many decades ago-- began as soon as after WWII when American politicos discovered there was profit in dhimming the future. With BushI it was at a dangerous level. By now it is fatal.

They were already there in the mid 70s, when I was at Georgetown. Mostly grad students. Also Iranians, Saudis, and a smaller collection of Syrians and Iraquis. At the time, the "happening" place for the Islamic Student organizations was Howard. Anything of consequence would be held there, not at GU or GWU or American.
Hey, the inroads of Islam in America's black community go back far. Yeah, Elijah M. concoted his own variant back in the 30s, but there was a big enough presence of "mainstream" Islam that Malcolm X could see it as a natural alternative to the NOI.
