Rot scared shitless by Thoreau
Where they take a stand is when Thoreau asks them to spend time alone, away from family and friends: disconnected, separated, out of touch. Solitude, it seems, scares them. "I find it wholesome to be alone the greater part of the time," Thoreau wrote. "I never found the companion that was so companionable as solitude." That is a sentiment so disturbing to my students as to make some of them angry. ... Their most common response? Fear.

I had to stop there. Is this going to be about spacetime or Thoreau?
William Major is an associate professor of English at the University of Hartford's Hillyer College. See that?
He's probably in the part of the department for which the kill freedom view is sufficient to get a position.
This is suggested of course by his opinions on telecommunications and your positively fawning view of him.
