Beautiful. Never been there. You're close to Amarone country, AI. Get a good one for me.

Do they have it at Malapensa? I usually don't carry such stuff, too afraid it will break and spill all over my clothes...

BTW, I can see in the distance the line of the mountains leading to the Alto Adige. That should also be nice to visit one day...

I am sick with envy, AI.

I'm warming up to Italy, man. Gotta come back next May, go see the Abruzzi. Maybe you'll come show me the mountain goats?

Those of us who hail from the landlocked, frozen regions of the upper Great Plains are fascinated by this city built on water.

There's something poetic to be said about how the stairs toward the right of the photo descend into the water, each step getting more blurred than the next, until finally they disappear. Where do they go? All the way down?

Beautiful.

You going to Abruzzo? Then you ought to go to the Gran Sasso. 2912 m of limestone and ice (if you're not there in the middle of summer).
Also the food there is obscene. The best black truffles come from there (Norcia) as well as a lot of rustic, mountain cooking. Alla norcina is with cream and sausage, for example.
