Now they tell us!

A former Marine, Mr. Murtha deserves credit for sounding an alarm about the deteriorating situation a year ago. But his descriptions of the stakes there have been consistently unrealistic, and his solutions irresponsible. Just last week he denied that the United States was fighting terrorism in Iraq, though al-Qaeda is known to play a major part in the insurgency. He said the United States should abandon even the effort to train the Iraqi army and should "redeploy as soon as practicable," an extreme step that most congressional Democrats oppose. He claimed that "stability in the Middle East, stability in Iraq," would come from such an abrupt withdrawal; in fact, virtually all Iraqi and Middle Eastern leaders have said that it would lead to a greatly escalated conflict that could spread through the region.

In a somewhat related vein, here is confirmation for an old suspicion. Jizyah in full bloom!

Here is another paper that apparently held like AA that the Democrats should win for some greater good than national success and security.
Now it's time to be responsible, evidently. It would be a shame to wreck the international standing of the Democrat party.

What would we do without experts?

[2] JJ, nope, you either misread what I wrote or miswrote what you intended. I do NOT regret Bush over Kerry because "the Democrats should win for some greater good than national success and security". I regret Bush over Kerry precisely because of the the great good which is national success and security. If you want me to explicate this in detail, beyond previous posts, just say so.
[3] AI, if we couldn't find experts we would need experts in finding experts in order to get that expert insight. Expertly done, of course.
