So, do any of us have any idea to where the Bush adminstration intends to go "full speed ahead"??? Note I am not talking about our ideas of where the administration SHOULD go, our disagreements on this are, yes komrads?, abundantly clear by now. Before there was a FCP, before even the move into Iraq, the gap between rhetoric and action with this administration was disconcertingly apparent to us [although not all were equally disconcerted, as JJ and AI can attest], but there was hope that in a while, a short while, the aim would be made manifest. For almost all of us, this hope was threadbare by 2004, but yet there were some who claimed to see an overarching plan. Now, in 2006, does any of us see such a plan? An outline of coherent strategy wherein the goal of actually succeeding in "democratization of Islam" is part of the game? An outline of coherent strategy wherein the phrase "full speed ahead" makes any sense whatsoever?
In 2004, with Bush in a much stronger position than now, and with Kerry Lord of Sneer [sorry, Pepe, Kerry has Muy Dinero to back up his Versaillism] as the face of Left Reason, it was still a close election. This time, the Republicans will be, and deservedly so, creamed. This is a tragedy, though. Not because the Republicans may get gloriously walloped, they have earned their caning, but because the Democrats have been so coopted by the most decadent aspects of the postmodern left [and when a Michael Moore is embraced as "mainstream" to the party, while Liebermann was volunteered for "The Running of the Jew", it definitely has been so coopted] that there seems to be no hope of a stance from them vis-a-vis Islam Militant other than Pepean Appeasement All The Way Down.
Ah, but why should I care? I have me Ubi Mea here in Canuckia. A Molson in hand, the sweet call of the Muezzin to the faithful filling the rainy skies, and the Life and Times of Pierre Trudeau playing on endless loop on CBC. Yup, gonna git me some of that good stuff while I can. Full Speed Ahead Into the Brilliant and Radiant Dhimmitude.

When I was in Vancouver, it was sunny and warm. But I was told that's rtaher unusual -- the default value there is rainy and dreary. Is that so?
If it makes you feel any better, AA, NPR was sounding rather petulant that the dmes that are doing well have been moving toward the right in the last few months.
It could all be window dressing covering a deep love for big brother, but I think not.
The right is in the ascendancy whether it be republican or democrat and the republicans should lose when they betray their core values.

The successful democrats are moving right according to npr. Just think of the ostracizing Kerry has gotten.

Uh-oh. AA's succumbing to wide-spread Canadian psyche: Canadistanians often forget that the reason they've been so safe is that the mightiest military in the history of the world is to their south, ready to defend itself and North America.
The left is always moving towards the right in pre-election times. Unlike the republicans, the dems seem ashamed of their conviction prior to the polls and seek to conceal who they really are. This has the effect of alienating their base while moderate republicans don't get fooled and stick to their party.

Pepe, the rush to the center always happens and for obvious reasons. The plank necessary win a primary with its one-party electorate is different than that to win an election with the general population voting.
What the nprers were talking about was that (in their view) the successful dems were the ones that really didn't have much in common with the loud left of Kos and Netroots.
This should be obvious, but in this election one would think that they could stay firmly left more than usual.
