It would not be hard to find in Lenin dozens and hundreds of passages which, formally speaking, seem to be contradictory. But what must be seen is not the formal relationship of one passage to another, but the real relationship of each of them to the concrete reality in which the formula was introduced as a lever.

"The highway", under International Socialism, was Death and the Gulag.
" against us" with the war against Islam Militant--excepting the luckless thug Hussein of Saddam--meant that you became a Hero to Planet Pepe, had 7 years of good press by the MSM guaranteed, and were offered a tenured post at Harvard or Chicago or Columbia.

Not to keep you on track of your own argument, homo patheticus, my way or the highway has been the bush administration's modus operandi for 8 years during which you found little to protest as long as you were fed some "fight against terror" argument. After all, they are your people. But Obamitler tries to push his own views ? Oh, my ! Lenin ! Stalin ! Pol Pot ! Your post of course, blithely sidesteps the whole point of it. Which is that if there was any rough equivalence between what the phrase "the highway" implied for International Socialism, and "against us" for the War against Islam Militant, you would have come a cropper in a "work"camp long time ago, and of course Bush would be Imperator today, with Obama enjoying the amenities of room 101.
